Suspension of classes till 31st march due to coronavirus - West Bengal
The West Bengal Government on Saturday announced that all schools, colleges, and universities inside the state will remain closed until March 31 inside the view of evolving conditions on the spread of COVID-19.
“It has been decided that each one Government, authorities-aided, private educational institutions- schools, colleges, universities, madrasas, SSK / MSK will continue to be closed from 16 March 2020 to 31 March 2020 inside the public interest," a press release issued through the State government said. The statement delivered that internal examinations of those institutions will also stay suspended at some stage in the stated duration but the “Board examinations could be held as according to schedule.”
The word comes a day after The state government decided to suspend all major wearing events until March 31.The Indian Institute of Technolgy- Kharagpur located close to Medinipur town in south Bengal has also determined that classes and examinations will be suspended with instant effect until March 31, 2020.
So far, there may be no showed case of COVID-19 from the State. Four persons were kept below isolation and their samples were sent for examination.
